This policy describes how billing, payments, and refunds work on Cheddify and its affiliated properties, including but not limited to chatwithpsychics.com (collectively, the “Platform”). By using the Platform to make or receive paid calls, you agree to the terms described below.
1. How Billing Works
Sellers on the Platform set a per-minute rate on their profile. When a buyer initiates a call and the seller accepts, a billing meter begins after the connection grace period (see Section 2). Buyers are charged based on the duration of the call multiplied by the seller’s per-minute rate.
A $2.00 Cheddify connection fee is added to every paid call. This fee is separate from the seller’s per-minute rate and is retained by Cheddify.
2. Connection Grace Period
The first 15 seconds of every call are free. This grace period accounts for connection setup time and allows both parties to confirm the call is working properly.
If a call ends within the 15-second grace period, no charge is applied to the buyer and no connection fee is charged.
3. Per-Minute Rounding
Call duration is rounded up to the next full minute. A 5-second grace period is applied before rounding to account for minor overages.
For example, a call lasting 3 minutes and 4 seconds is charged for 3 minutes (not 4), because the 4 seconds falls within the 5-second grace window. A call lasting 3 minutes and 6 seconds would be charged for 4 minutes.
4. Minimum Call Duration
Sellers may set a minimum call duration on their profile. The default minimum is 5 minutes. The minimum duration is displayed to buyers before they connect.
- If the buyer ends the call before the minimum: The buyer is charged for the full minimum duration at the seller’s per-minute rate, plus the connection fee.
- If the seller ends the call before the minimum: The call is free. No charge is applied to the buyer and no connection fee is charged.
- If the call drops due to network issues: Only the actual call time is charged. The minimum duration is not enforced in cases of technical failure.
5. Connection Fee
Cheddify charges a flat $2.00 connection fee on every paid call. This fee:
- Is added to the buyer’s total payment
- Is retained by Cheddify as part of platform revenue
- Is not charged when the total call charge is $0 (e.g., calls within the grace period, or when the seller ends the call before the minimum)
- Is non-refundable in dispute and refund scenarios
6. Pre-Authorization Holds
Before a call connects, a temporary hold (pre-authorization) is placed on the buyer’s payment method. This is not a charge — it is a hold to ensure funds are available.
- Initial hold amount: (seller’s per-minute rate × minimum call duration) + $2.00 connection fee
- Call extensions: If the call exceeds the pre-authorized amount, additional holds are placed in 5-minute blocks (5 × seller’s per-minute rate per block)
- Holds are released if the final charge is $0 or if the hold exceeds the final charge amount
7. Payment Capture
After a call ends, the final charge is calculated but not immediately captured. Funds are captured after a brief review period to allow time for refund requests. If the buyer submits a post-call review, capture may occur sooner.
8. Seller Payouts
Seller earnings are paid out via Stripe Connect. Payouts are subject to a 48-hour (2-day) hold after payment capture before being released to the seller’s connected bank account. This hold allows time for dispute resolution.
Cheddify deducts the following from the seller’s gross call earnings:
- 20% platform commission (or the rate associated with the seller’s subscription plan, if applicable)
- 3% credit card processing fee
Example: A 7-minute call at $3.00/min = $21.00 gross. Seller receives $21.00 − $4.20 (20% commission) − $0.63 (3% card fee) = $16.17.
9. Refund Policy
Buyers may request a refund within 24 hours of a call ending. After 24 hours, refund requests are no longer accepted.
When a refund is requested:
- The seller is notified and has 24 hours to respond to the request.
- If the seller does not respond within 24 hours, the refund is automatically approved.
- If the seller responds, Cheddify may mediate the dispute at its discretion.
Refund amount: The full call charge minus the $2.00 connection fee. The connection fee is non-refundable.
Example: A buyer is charged $8.00 total ($6.00 call + $2.00 connection fee). If a refund is approved, the buyer receives $6.00. Cheddify retains the $2.00 connection fee.
10. Seller Impact of Refunds
When a refund is approved, the full call amount is debited from the seller’s wallet balance. If a seller’s wallet balance drops below -$10.00, the seller’s account may be suspended until the balance is resolved.
This policy exists to maintain call quality and deter fraudulent or misleading behavior on the Platform.
11. Fraud Prevention & Payment Holds
Cheddify reserves the right to hold payments indefinitely if:
- Fraud is suspected on either the buyer or seller account
- An account is under active investigation
- Unusual activity patterns are detected (e.g., rapid successive transactions, velocity limit violations)
Cheddify may suspend accounts and withhold payouts during any investigation. Funds will be released or refunded once the investigation concludes, at Cheddify’s sole discretion.
12. Zero-Charge Scenarios
The following scenarios result in no charge to the buyer and no connection fee:

13. Changes to This Policy
Cheddify may update this Billing & Refund Policy at any time. Material changes to fees or refund terms will be communicated with at least 30 days’ notice via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
