How Cheddify Works

Browse who's live, tap to connect, pay per minute. No scheduling, no subscriptions — just real conversations, right now.

Cheddify is built around a simple loop: creators go live, buyers browse, someone taps, a call connects. Everything else — payment, ratings, discovery — wraps around that core moment. Here's how it works, from both sides of the call.

For buyers: how to start a call

  1. Browse the live grid. Open Cheddify on web, iOS, or Android. You'll see a grid of creators who are available right now. Filter by mood, category, or vibe — or just scroll until someone catches your eye. Pulsing status dots tell you who's live and ready to pick up.
  2. Tap to connect. Tap a creator's card to see their profile — their rate, how they describe themselves, what kinds of conversations they have. When you're ready, tap "Connect." You'll confirm your payment method, then the call initiates. The creator's phone rings within seconds.
  3. Talk, pay per minute, hang up. The meter starts when the call connects. Talk for as long as you need. Hang up when you're done — no awkward goodbyes required. You're charged only for the minutes you actually used.

No app download is required for buyers. The call comes to whatever device you're already using. If you browse on desktop, the call connects in your browser. On mobile, it connects in the browser or the app if you have it installed.

For creators: how to go live and earn

  1. Download the app. Cheddify for creators runs on iOS and Android. Set up your profile — name, bio, photos, the categories and moods that fit your style. Set your per-minute rate.
  2. Toggle available. When you're ready to take calls, flip the switch. You appear in the live grid instantly. Your status dot pulses. Buyers can now find you and connect.
  3. Pick up and earn. When a buyer taps you, your phone rings like a normal call. Accept it, start the conversation. The meter runs on their end. When the call ends, your earnings are credited. Both sides rate the experience.

As a creator, you're in control of your availability, your rate, and when you're on. You can toggle off at any time — no penalties. Learn more about what it means to be a creator on Cheddify, including tips on setting up a profile that converts.

Payment and billing

Buyers pay per minute. Creators set their own rates. Cheddify takes a platform fee from each transaction — creators keep the majority of what they earn. Payment is processed securely via Stripe. No monthly fees on either side.

If a call is cut short by a connection issue, Cheddify has a billing grace system — you won't be charged for time you didn't actually spend talking. Both sides can rate and dispute if something goes wrong.

After the call

Both buyer and creator rate the experience. Ratings build creator profiles and help buyers make better choices on future calls. It's the same feedback loop that makes ride-sharing and delivery apps trustworthy — public, mutual, and real.

Buyers can save creators they liked to their favorites, follow them, and get notified when they go live again. Creators can see their earnings, call history, and ratings in the app.

Frequently asked questions

Do buyers need to download an app?

No. Buyers can start and take calls entirely in the browser on desktop or mobile. No app download required. Creators use the iOS or Android app to go live and receive calls.

How does billing work exactly?

You add a payment method, connect to a creator, and the per-minute meter starts when the call connects. You're billed when the call ends — only for the minutes used. No subscription, no minimum charge beyond any creator-set minimum.

What if a creator doesn't pick up?

You're not charged if the call doesn't connect. If a creator appears available but doesn't answer, try another creator or check back — some creators set availability but step away briefly.

How fast does a call connect?

Typically within a few seconds of tapping Connect. The creator's phone rings immediately. If they accept, you're live. The whole process from tap to talking takes under 30 seconds in most cases.

Can creators set their own rates?

Yes. Every creator sets their own per-minute rate. Rates vary based on the creator's experience, niche, and popularity. You'll always see the rate before connecting — no surprise charges.

What happens if the call drops mid-conversation?

If a call drops due to a connection issue, Cheddify has a brief reconnect window. If reconnection fails, billing stops at the point of disconnection. You're not charged for time you weren't actually connected.

Can I see a creator's profile before calling?

Yes. Tap any creator card to see their full profile — bio, rate, categories, ratings, and reviews from past calls. Take as long as you need to decide. You only connect (and get charged) when you explicitly tap Connect.

How do creators receive payments?

Creators earn per minute of call time. Earnings are tracked in the Cheddify app and can be transferred to a bank account. The platform takes a percentage; creators keep the majority of their earnings.

Is there a minimum call length?

Some creators set a minimum call duration — typically 1-3 minutes — to make short calls worthwhile for them. You'll see any minimum before you connect. Most creators have no minimum.
