What fair actually means
Fair has less to do with the number than with whether you knew it in advance. A $75 reading you chose with your eyes open is fair. A $40 reading that turned into $140 because the clock kept running is not, even though the advisor may have been excellent.
So the first test of a fair price is simple: can you say, before you connect, what the whole reading will cost? If the answer is no, the price is not fair yet, whatever the number.
The second test is what you are paying for. A fair price pays a real person for their time and attention, and pays whoever is standing behind the reading if it misses. If nobody is standing behind it, you should be paying less, not more.
The honest range
Across the industry, live readings land roughly between $40 and $200.
Sites that bill by the minute advertise low opening numbers, but the advisors people actually want commonly run several dollars a minute, and a 20 minute reading lands near or above $100. Independent readers who work on their own usually charge $50 to $200 for a flat 30 to 60 minute session. Very cheap readings, under $20 for a real conversation, usually mean a new advisor, an opening offer, or a script.

What a reading costs here
We chose the flat model. Four lengths, four prices, every one shown before you pay: The Question, 5 to 10 minutes, $39. The Reading, 15 to 20 minutes, $75, the one most people book. The Deep Dive, 30 to 40 minutes, $135. The Hour, 60 minutes, $185. Prime evening hours run a few dollars more, and late nights a little higher still. Every price is on the calendar before you choose.
