The honest answer: less than you might think
There is no schedule for readings, and anyone selling you one is selling. The right time for a reading is when something has genuinely changed. A new person. A silence that has gone on long enough to mean something. A decision with a deadline. A loss. When your situation moves, a reading can help you see the new shape of it.
For most people, that works out to a handful of readings a year, sometimes fewer. Some go a year or two between readings and get a great deal from each one. That is not a sign they are missing out. It is a sign the readings are doing what they should.
Why weekly is too much for most people
The problem with frequent readings is not only the cost, though that adds up. It is what they do to your relationship with your own judgment.
A reading works by showing you a pattern and handing it back to you to act on. If you book another before you have acted, you are not gathering more insight, you are re-checking. Re-checking feels like care, but it slowly trains you to distrust your own read of a situation. After a while, you cannot decide whether to send a text without asking first. That is dependence, and it is the opposite of what a good reading is for.
There are honest exceptions. A crisis that is unfolding week by week. A decision in several stages. Working with one advisor through a hard season, where each reading builds on the last. Those are real, and an advisor who knows you can tell the difference. But "I am anxious again" is not a change in your situation, and a reading will not fix the anxiety.
Signs it is time, and signs it is not
It is time when something has happened since your last reading, when you have acted on what you heard and are at a new fork, or when a question has been circling long enough that you are losing sleep over it.
It is not time when you are hoping the same question gets a different answer, when you have not yet done the thing your last reading pointed to, or when you cannot make an ordinary choice without checking first. In that last case, the most useful thing is a pause, not a booking.
How it works here
We would rather you come back when it matters than every week. Your advisor remembers you, so a reading three months from now picks up where the last one left off instead of starting over. There is no subscription, no membership and no credits to use up, so nothing here nudges you toward booking more than you need. When something does change, you can choose Now and usually connect within 15 minutes, or pick a time on the calendar. Every reading is covered by the CWP Guarantee: insight and clarity, or you don't pay.
